3 jours à la Côte d’Azur, often known in English as the French Riviera

Spontaneously we decided to go to Cannes from Paris for a 3 day get away by the sea! Cannes also known as the resort town on the French Riviera, very famed for its international film festival.

Yes we can’t be far away from the water too long, we are water people.

As it was mid july, last minute, we booked an Airbnb apartment which was very nice.

When you are booking your vacation to Cannes, try to stay near rue d’Antibes, rue Hoche, la Croisette, so you can do everything on foot. You can anyways do everything on foot around there.

I would recommend staying anywhere around the French Riviera, whether it’s Juan Les Pins, Antibes, Nice, and renting a car and going around. First of all it is a fabulous ride, you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery that is the French Riviera, elegant and glamorous but also you get to experience different towns and different beaches.

My favorite beach is the Juan les Pins beach, not too crowded, and a beautiful sandy beach. If you are going by train, because you can do that also, the beach is about 100 meters from the station which is perfect, specially that it’s not always easy to find a spot to park your car.

If you do go to Juan Les Pins for the beach, sit at the Ruban Bleu beach, they have nice cocktails and delicious food. Do try the Lobster pasta, you won’t regret it! If it’s full, try La Deuce or Plage Le Colombier, they are nice too. After the beach you can just walk around town and enjoy the beauty of it before heading back.

You should definitely go visit Monaco, if you are not staying there. The ride to there by car if you take it by the coast is extremely beautiful, don’t miss out on it. If you can’t rent a car you can always go with an Uber, Taxi or by train (the station is really nice, it’s inside the mountain), that’s for the fast, hassle free way to get there.

Once there you should of course check out the Casino de Monte Carlo, the James Bond gambling hall of your dream, the Hotel de Paris (and yes you can go inside to take a look, and I think you should, for good luck in gambling, if you are planning to, rub  the knee of the equestrian statue of Louis XIV that you will find inside, you won’t be the first, nor the last!

For lunch options around the Casino, you can check out Cafe de Paris which I find to be too touristic for my taste, or you can go to Fairmont Monte Carlo Hotel and enjoy Nobu, one of the trendiest restaurants in the world actually.

You should definitely check out the Prince’s Palace in the Old Town, a Renaissance building constructed on the site of a 13th century fortress, this is where the Royal family resides. If you are there early you can watch the changing of the guards at 11:55 am.

You can stroll around as much as you want, but you shouldn’t miss dinner at the Beef Bar if you are into meat. It must be the best restaurant I’ve ever had meat at in my life! It’s so good you are not going to believe yourself!

If you are up for a clubbing kind of night go to Jimmyz, the famous club in Monaco.

Here are my recommendations for Cannes:

You can spend the day either at the Carlton Beach or Baoli Beach.

Definitely have dinner one night at Le Suquet, it’s the old town, I think any restaurant will do, it’s all very romantic and cozy. Even if you won’t have dinner then you should go walk around, it’s extremely pretty.

If you are up for a night of fun and dancing, go have dinner at Baoli, book the 11pm spot, have your dinner then go to the club inside, you will have fun!

You should also, if you can, book for lunch at La Guerite, it’s on an island in front of Cannes, they come pick you up with the boat, and bring you back. Food is exquisite, and the view is fabulous.

For brunch you can go to Eden Rock hotel, they have a great view too!

I don’t think you will be able to eat in all these places in just two days, but if you are staying more and want more tips, please do get in touch with me, it will be my pleasure to give you even more tips!

xoxo Tranneta
