It was lastly renovated in 2015 which makes it a pretty new property. Surrounded by many shops (vintage shops in Long Street), restaurants, and the Convention Center it’s an ideal base for business and leisure travelers. Cape Town’s attractions like Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay are easily reachable from the Hilton with an Uber or with the Hilton’s free shuttle that runs from 9 am to 5 pm.
Honoring the culture and rich heritage of the Bo-Kaap area; as well as its residents ; the hotel lobby as well as 126 Cape Kitchen and Cafe is strictly Halal. Their kitchen is certified by the Islamic Council of South Africa. Though you can find alcoholic beverages in the comfort of your room, at the Signal Hill lounge and terrace as well as in the Executive Lounge.
At first glance, the hotel looks beautiful, with a touch of modern. A great place to start off your trip. Upon arriving at the hotel we were offered a welcome drink while the receptionist was checking us in. Which was very efficient and fast.

The Hilton Cape Town has 137 rooms and suites each equipped with the finest amenities. With beautiful views of Bo Kaap and Table Mountain, the hotel is very centrally located for a first time visitor in Cape Town.
The rooms at the Hilton Cape Town are modern and well designed. All of them are well equipped with air conditioning, a coffee maker, and iron and its board, a refrigerator, a safe (that I recommend you use), LCD screens with the cable and free internet access. Wifi is available all around the hotel for free.
A small tip for you: if you book an executive room you get full access to the Executive Lounge.
The bathroom is spacious, modern. It came with a large rain shower, a soft close toilet, a sink and a free standing bathtub, that looks beautiful; but please don’t forget to save water!
Breakfast and dinner at the Hilton Cape Town
Hotel guests and outsiders can experience an array of delicious cuisines. The Hotel’s international breakfast buffet is served at the on the ground floor. Breakfast is complete with a range of exotic teas, of course an egg station and so much more.
We were invited to dine at 126 Cape Kitchen and Cafe, and let me tell you I was happily surprised by the food. It was so goood! We had indian food and let me tell you it was delicious. I’d recommend you try it!
The Facilities at the Hilton City Center Cape Town
Hilton Cape Town has a pool, a gym, a business center and a prayer room. The pool is located on the terrace. Right next to it you can find a bar-style restaurant which has a nice seating outdoor area for chilling before dinner: the Signal Hill Terrace. You can there enjoy an Arabic Shisha , dine or simply have a drink or two.
The concierge is very helpful with everything. If you have nothing planned ahead don’t hesitate to ask them they know it all. And if you have everything already planned, then they might give you some tips that will come in handy.
