While in Paris I was invited for a fine dining experience at Le Lobby at The Peninsula Paris.
Peninsula hotels are known to be upscale and refined hotels, and the one located in Paris is absolutely no exception to that.
Peninsula Paris was given the “palace” status as a hotel; meaning five stars is simply not enough, it doesn’t do it justice. And it’s easy to understand why.
The Hotel is absolutely grandiose, with a perfect view at the Arc de Triomphe, Tour Eiffel. Nestled in one of the upscale neighborhoods of Paris, close to everything but in a calm area, it would be an absolute perfect location to stay at.
Le Lobby, better known for their Afternoon Tea which is part of the DNA of the Peninsula group, I choose to go for dinner as it better fitted my schedule.
It is located near the hotel’s lobby. It’s a beautiful restored Belle Époque ballroom with big arched windows, a high ceiling and beautiful details on that ceiling including gold leafs. Not to forget the beautiful chandeliers. They have an outdoor area, but since it was cold and raining we choose to sit in this beautiful ballroom.
We were greeted with a smile and a mouthwatering menu. Really! Let’s get to the meal shall we?
For appetizers we had the Scottish smoked salmon| Osashimi style, what is it you ask. Well it’s delicious, don’t ask![easy-image-collage id=444]
and the Obsiblue shrimps with coconut milk and curry sauce.
For the main course, well I wanted something very specific. Not being able to eat it anywhere, I wanted to have Steak Tartare, it wasn’t on the menu we had. But lucky me it was in the all day dining menu and they were kind enough to let me order it.
Take a look at the presentation with the edible flowers. Delicious is an understatement![easy-image-collage id=445]
My mother had the Coquille Saint-Jacques (seared scallops in a citrus fruit sauce) which happened to be beyond expectations.
Finally, Dessert for me was the best of the best! You know how when you are having a chocolate dessert you are not able to finish it because it’s heavy. Well we had the chocolate dessert and we finished it. It was light and delicious, just thinking of it while writing about it makes me wanna go right now and order it!
It’s a place not to be missed, whether it’s for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner; romantic, familial or casual. Please when you visit Paris don’t miss it!
Needless to say the staff is absolutely extraordinary. Thank you for the delicious experience!
